Dancing around the Fountain Barefoot
As the saying states, time flies when you're having fun and I have been faithfully posting my fun fashion finds on instagram but have neglected to speak about the looks here online. I'm looking to remedy that this coming month and am excited to share party looks and new arrivals.
Today's post is about my season's investment look. For the past 15 years I've tried to invest yearly in a quality ensemble. The look must be something with which I have absolutely fallen in love and can foresee myself wearing on repeat that year as well as slipping seamlessly into my current wardrobe. This outfit from Wicky was love at first sight.
Interestingly, as I've gotten older I've found my desire to dress conservatively has subsided and I'm enthusiastic about blending pops of color and patterns with the more traditional pieces in my wardrobe. The designer of this look has a lovely back story and is inspired by traditional Italian patterns, she's also a female entrepreneur and a has an amazing eye for combing prints. Her company is named La Double J and the only place to find her in Basel is Wicky Concept store.
Most people thought that this look was a dress, it's actual a top and skirt which makes it so easy to combine. Wear the skirt with a basic white tank and voila, summer look is set. Put on the top with a pair of on trend 80s inspired jeans with chunky boots and you're ready for book club and cocktails or tea.
Personally, I will be wearing it year round as I simple top it with a cozy sweater or warm coat and over the knee boots to keep my legs warm. I hope you enjoy the variations.
